NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR - (1) –TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT
Job Scope
Responsible for implementing and maintaining network equipment, systems, network and security architecture of the Bank. The Senior Network Administrator is required to work with the Network, Infrastructure & Support team, internal departments and external vendors to provide second level support for network and systems.
Key Responsibilities
Designing and implementing computer networks: Designing the network topology, choosing appropriate hardware and software components, and configuring them to provide reliable and efficient network services.
Designing and configuring network security infrastructure: Configuring firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, virtual private networks (VPNs), and other security tools to prevent unauthorized access and ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data.
Installing and maintaining network hardware and software: This includes installing, configuring, and upgrading network hardware and software, such as routers, switches, servers, and operating systems.
Monitoring network performance: Monitoring network traffic, identifying and resolving network performance issues, and optimizing network performance to ensure that users have uninterrupted and optimally fast experiences with network systems services.
Monitoring and maintaining network security: Monitoring network traffic for signs of security breaches and responds to security incidents in a timely manner. Implementing security measures such as firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, and access controls to protect the network from unauthorized access and malicious attacks.
Maintaining and updating network security infrastructure: Ensuring that network security infrastructure is up to date with the latest patches and upgrades, and that security policies and procedures are reviewed and updated regularly.
Troubleshooting network problems: Identifying and resolving network problems, such as connectivity issues, equipment failures, and software conflicts.
Backup and recovery: Taking regular backups of critical data and preparing Disaster Recovery plans to restore the network in case of a catastrophic event.
Providing technical support: Providing technical support to users, helping them with any network-related issues and ensuring that they can access network resources and services.
Documenting network procedures and configurations: Documenting network procedures and configurations to ensure that other administrators can understand and maintain the network.
Implementing network security policies: Creating and implementing policies and procedures to ensure security and privacy of the network, equipment and data.
Managing access controls: Creating and managing user accounts and permissions to ensure that only authorized users have access to network resources.
Responding to security incidents: investigating and responding appropriately to security incidents, including isolating infected machines, notifying appropriate authorities, and implementing remediation measures.
Creating and maintaining network security documentation: Creating and maintaining documentation of network security policies, procedures, and infrastructure, to ensure that all relevant parties have the information they need to maintain network security.
Providing network security training: Providing security awareness training to other members of the Network, Infrastructure & Support unit and other required employees to ensure they understand their role in maintaining network security.
Leading and supervising: Leading and supervising Network Administrators and other technical staff of the Network, Infrastructure & Support unit in planning and carrying out day-to-day network administration activities to ensure daily activities of the unit as well as projects are completed on time.
Requirement
Master’s Degree in related field with minimum 02 years of work experience in a similar field OR
Bachelor’s Degree in related field with minimum 03 years of work experience,
Proficiency in MS office suite of applications
Fluency in Oral and Written Communication
Ability to plan, multitask and manage time effectively
Highly driven and self-motivated individuals with good interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills.
Leadership skills with ability to Lead, Monitor and Manage staff.
