SENIOR IT AUDITOR (1) / INTERNAL AUDIT DEPARTMENT
Job Scope
Responsible for ensuring successful completion of assigned audit and other engagements through adequate planning, fieldwork and reporting on the audit findings. Reviewing and providing feedback/guidance and monitoring the works performed by the team to ensure audits/other assignments are conducted effectively and efficiently. Furthermore, the staff is responsible for ensuring that adequate risk based internal auditing approached is followed throughout the audit engagements.
The staff member would be mainly responsible in conducting Information Security, Cyber Security related internal audits/reviews and any other audits specified in the IT audit universe of the bank.
Engage in the annual audit planning process and providing proactive inputs in the areas of Information and cyber-security to be included in the plan. Also, is responsible for carrying out any other tasks assigned by the Chief Internal Auditor.
Key Responsibilities
Develop the IT audit plan based on key risk areas.
Perform IT risk assessments and identify areas of vulnerabilities within the bank
Responsible for verifying and auditing information technology General Controls (ITGCs), application controls and cyber-security controls.
Provide assurance on internal controls related to information technology, and verify compliance with the external laws, regulations and internal policies and procedures.
Developing IT and cyber-security audit programs that target high risk areas in the bank’s control systems and processes.
Conduct IT audits/reviews in accordance with the adopted annual plan
Conduct detailed examinations of the bank’s IT infrastructure and business applications and assess and identify gaps and areas for improvement and evaluate their significance and potential business impact.
Developing IT audit reports in an appropriate, high-quality and effective manner highlighting key risk exposures.
Ensuring that the results of IT audit assignments are communicated to the stakeholders in a timely manner and corrective actions are agreed.
Conducts regular follow-up on the progress made by the auditee in implementing audit/review recommendations
Evaluate the effectiveness of IT risk management and internal corporate governance control in the framework of IT audit projects.
Monitors or execute engagements ensuring they are performed as per the audit methodology and documentation requirements of the Internal Audit Department.
Performing and managing any other tasks assigned by Chief Internal Auditor
Reviewing and ensuring that all the working papers are completed, and sufficient/relevant evidence are attached with the working papers, before audit reports are finalized and issued.
Requirements
Master’s Degree in ICT or related field with a minimum of 02 years’ experience in IT audit and cyber-security related audit.
Bachelor’s Degree in ICT or related field with a minimum of 04 years’ experience in IT audit and cyber-security related audit.
Priority will be given for relevant professional certification such as CISA, CISSP, CRISC, CISM.
High degree of independence and positive attitude towards work commitments.
Take lead in audit assignments with moderate or minimal supervision.
Strong analytical skills, sound professional judgement and problem-solving capabilities.
Good command of English (both oral and written communication)
Maintain the highest level of integrity and independence.
