Maldives Islamic Bank successfully hosted its 15th Anniversary Corporate Dinner on 18 May 2026 at Niva Kurumba, bringing together valued corporate clients, shareholders, founding partners, and key stakeholders to celebrate the Bank’s journey and achievements.
The evening was attended by distinguished guests, including corporate customers, government representatives, and long-standing partners who have supported the Bank throughout its 15-year journey. The event reflected on the Bank’s growth, achievements, and contribution to the development of Islamic banking in the Maldives.
The programme commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by welcome remarks from the Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director of Maldives Islamic Bank, Mr. Mufaddal Idris Khumri, highlighting key financial milestones and the Bank’s continued progress.
This was followed by remarks from the Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Ahmed Riza, who shared insights on the Bank’s transformation journey and strategic achievements. A short video documentary showcasing the Bank’s 15-year journey was also screened during the event.
Throughout the evening, thematic presentations highlighted the Bank’s role in financing the economy, serving everyday citizens, and contributing to national development.
Remarks were delivered by the Governor of the Maldives Monetary Authority, Mr. Ahmed Munavvar, followed by speeches from founding shareholders representing the Government and the International Finance Corporation (ICD), underscoring the strong foundation and partnerships that have supported the Bank’s growth.
Members of the Board of Directors also shared remarks on governance, performance, and the Bank’s long-term vision.
As part of the ceremony, tokens of appreciation and commemorative plaques were presented to founding shareholders, institutional partners, and key contributors, including representatives from ICD and Government-linked stakeholders.
Former Managing Director Mr. Harith Harun also addressed the audience, reflecting on the Bank’s early journey and evolution into a leading Islamic financial institution in the Maldives.
The evening concluded with a vote of thanks by the Chairman of Maldives Islamic Bank, followed by a networking dinner, marking a memorable celebration of the Bank’s 15-year milestone.
