Maldives Islamic Bank (MIB) successfully concluded its participation in the three-day Financial Expo 2026, organized by the Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA), held from 2–4 July at Hulhumalé Central Park. Throughout the event, the Bank engaged with thousands of visitors through interactive activities, educational sessions and exclusive promotional offers.
The Expo was officially inaugurated by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, bringing together key stakeholders from across the financial sector to promote financial literacy, innovation and financial inclusion. MIB also played a prominent role in the opening programme, with Deputy Chief Executive Officer Ahmed Riza participating in the inaugural panel discussion, where he shared insights into the evolving financial landscape and the role of innovation and automated payment systems in shaping the future of banking.
Throughout the three-day event, MIB showcased its comprehensive range of Shari'ah-compliant banking products and digital solutions, giving visitors the opportunity to learn more about the Bank's innovative services while engaging directly with MIB representatives.
One of the highlights of MIB's participation was its interactive financial literacy quiz, which attracted significant public interest. Visitors tested their knowledge of Islamic banking principles and MIB's products for a chance to win exclusive FaisaWear Rings, making financial learning both educational and rewarding.
To further enhance visitor engagement, MIB introduced its Visit & Win promotion on the final day of the Expo. Visitors attending the event were invited to scan a designated QR code at the entrance and complete a simple registration process for a chance to win cash prize of MVR 50,000. The initiative generated strong interest while promoting MIB's products and digital banking solutions to a wider audience.
In addition, the Bank promoted its ongoing campaigns and digital banking services, encouraging visitors to discover convenient, secure and innovative ways to manage their finances. MIB representatives were on hand throughout the Expo to assist customers with product information, account-related inquiries and live demonstrations of the Bank's digital platforms amongst other banking services.
As part of its commitment to youth empowerment and financial education, MIB also hosted a special Fireside Chat titled From Classroom to Corner Office, featuring Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Mufaddal Idris Khumri. The session inspired students through discussions on leadership, resilience, lifelong learning and the importance of developing strong financial habits from an early age.
Over the course of the Expo, MIB received an overwhelming response from visitors, with strong participation across its interactive activities, educational initiatives and promotional campaigns.
