Malé, Maldives – The Maldives Islamic Bank (MIB) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the government to establish an additional 19 ATMs across the country. The MoU was signed by Mohamed Saeed, Minister of Economic Development and Trade, and Mufaddal Idris Khumri, Managing Director and CEO of MIB.
This initiative is aligned with the President's pledge to expand ATM services to all inhabited islands, ensuring that banking services are accessible to every Maldivian, regardless of their location.
Currently, MIB has installed 39 ATMs across 18 islands in 12 atolls. With the addition of 23 more ATMs planned by 2025, the bank’s services will be available on 37 islands in 16 atolls, bringing the total number of ATMs to 62.
