SENIOR IT RISK ANALYST (1) – / RISK MANAGEMENT & COMPLIANCE

Job Scope

Responsible for managing IT-related operational risks, identifying system control lapses, and conducting thorough root cause analysis for operational incidents.

Support the broader Operational Risk Management function by reviewing processes, evaluating risks associated with new changes, products, and services, and ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partake in establishment and implementation of the Operations Risk Management framework to ensure that RMIT component is addressed and incorporated.

  • Oversee and manage IT-related operational incidents, ensuring they are documented, investigated, and resolved in a timely and effective manner.

  • Identify and analyze system control lapses and weaknesses that contribute to incidents.

  • Conduct detailed root cause analysis for incidents and propose actionable recommendations to prevent recurrence.

  • Perform regular risk assessments on new and existing IT processes and systems.

  • Assess operational risks related to new business changes, ensuring that risk mitigation measures are in place.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to review and update risk management frameworks and control procedures.

  • Review and update internal policies and procedures related to IT risk management to ensure alignment with current regulatory requirements and industry’s best practices.

  • Ensure adherence to policies across IT operations and provide guidance on operational risk issues.

  • Conduct risk assessments on new products and services, ensuring that operational risks are properly identified and managed before launch.

  • Provide risk-based recommendations for new IT products, services, and enhancements.

  • Conduct investigations into assigned incidents and operational risk events, analyzing root causes and contributing factors.

  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies as required.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (IT, Legal, Compliance, etc.) to enhance risk awareness and ensure proactive management of operational risks.

  • Provide regular risk reporting and updates to senior leadership and relevant stakeholders

  • Partake in the implementation and maintenance of a risk control self-assessment system.

  • Proactively identifying operational risks and IT risks and facilitate the Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) process.

  • Assist in Defining and maintenance of policies and SOPs for ERM framework components (risk register, RCSAs, issue management, incident management).

  • Risk monitoring through Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and assessing the adequacy of controls to manage such risks.

  • Internal and external loss data collection and management, incident reporting mechanism, data transformation, analysis, aggregation, and reporting.

  • Business process mapping, business, and risk type segmentation.

  • Keep abreast of the latest risk management practices and/or standards and proactively adapt these practices and/or standards where appropriate.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Master’s Degree in IT or Computer Science with minimum 02 years of work experience in Risk Management in IT

  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT or Computer Science with minimum 03 years of work experience in Risk Management in IT

  • Knowledge and/or prior experience in IT or Risk Management in IT will be an added advantage

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) will be an added advantage.

  • Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects/multitasking.
